Strategies for Engaging Social Media Content (April 2023)- Live Webinar
- Registration Closed
About this Webinar
In our increasingly online world, museums need to start thinking of social media as a program, not just as a marketing tool. In this webinar, we will learn some of the most effective strategies for engaging your audience on social media. While everyone is welcome to attend, this webinar will be especially useful to social media managers, communications specialists, and public affairs branches.
Learning Outcomes
After this webinar, users should be able to:
- Appreciate the value of appealing to young people online
- Understand the value of Instagram carousels and video content
- Start to see the connection between current events/media and their collections
We know in broad topics like social media, we can't touch on every part of a subject. This webinar will not be covering the following topics:
Video editing
Accessibility on social media
How to build a style guide
Connecting the Content
This 60-minute webinar will especially help organizations enrolled in STEPS address Audience (Aud) 1 (The institution identifies current and potential audiences it serves, and makes appropriate decisions in how it serves them) and 4 (The institution regularly promotes the institution and its activities and thinks strategically about how it shares information)
The Standards and Excellence Program for History Organizations (STEPS) is a self-study, self-paced assessment tool designed specifically for small- to mid-sized history organizations, including volunteer-run institutions. Through a workbook, online resources, and an online community, organizations enrolled in STEPS review their policies and practices and benchmark themselves against national standards.
