Does your organization have a written Emergency and Disaster Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Plan to help assess and manage risk, protect human life, and recover from natural and man-made disasters? In this webinar, we will discuss the importance of having such a plan, the basics of creating one, and what to do with it once it is created.

- outline next steps to create an emergency and disaster preparedness plan for their organization;
- identify how an emergency and disaster preparedness plan can be used at their organization.
Connecting the Content
This webinar is open to anyone but will especially help organizations enrolled in STEPS address Stewardship of Collections Standard 7: The institution legally, ethically, and effectively manages, documents, cares for, and uses the collections.
The Standards and Excellence Program for History Organizations (STEPS) is a self-study, self-paced assessment tool designed specifically for small- to mid-sized history organizations, including volunteer-run institutions. Through a workbook, online resources, and an online community, organizations enrolled in STEPS review their policies and practices and benchmark themselves against national standards.

Toni Kiser
Senior Registrar & Director of Collections Management
The National WWII Museum
Toni Kiser is the Senior Registrar & Director of Collections Management at The National WWII Museum. She oversees all aspects of registration and collection management and has worked on varied projects from large exhibit installations, digitization projects, storage moves, artifact re-housing, and cataloging and nomenclature standards. She is the author of Loyal Forces: American Animals in WWII and co-editor of Museum Registration Methods, 6th edition. Ms. Kiser serves on the Board for the Association of Registrars and Collection Specialists. She holds a BA in History from Brevard College and an MA in Museum Studies from The George Washington University.

Cancellations made prior to the early-bird registration deadline date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between the early-bird deadline date and eight days prior to the workshop will be subject to a $55 processing/materials charge. No refunds will be given within seven days of the workshop date. AASLH is not responsible for cancellations that were mailed or emailed but never received.
