About this Webinar
Jason Harpe, Director of Cemetery Conservation for Richard Grubb & Associates, Inc., will deliver an illustrated presentation on the basics of cemetery preservation and best practices in photography and documentation that are invaluable to both grassroots efforts undertaken by individuals, families, and non-profit organizations and larger scopes of work considered by churches and municipalities. we will dicuss working with individuals, small to large groups of stewards and descendant communities, non-profit preservation organizations, and municipalities on short-term and long-term plans to address the preservation needs of historic cemeteries that range from the conservation of a few historic gravemarkers to long-range plans that addresses issues with tree and monument assessments, site maintenance and interpretation, fundraising and grant writing, geophysical surveys, the completion of cemetery survey forms, and local landmark and National Register of Historic Places eligibility assessments.
About the Speaker: Jason Harpe has 25 years of experience in the field of historic preservation in both the public and private sectors. He leads workshops on cemetery preservation for historical societies, student groups, museums, churches, and historic preservation organizations, in addition to conserving gravestones and monuments of diverse types in family, church, and municipal cemeteries. He is a Certified Gravestone and Monument Conservator and a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation.

Cancellations made prior to the early-bird registration deadline date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between the early-bird deadline date and eight days prior to the workshop will be subject to a $55 processing/materials charge. No refunds will be given within seven days of the workshop date. AASLH is not responsible for cancellations that were mailed or emailed but never received.
