Make 2 discussion posts to continue. In the field of Professional Project Management, a Project Manager is a role that is separate from the work of the project, but that is rare in the world of history professionals. Share your thoughts or experiences around this idea. Here are some questions to consider: • What are some impacts that not having a designated project manager has on projects? • Are there any projects you’ve worked on that had some challenges or dysfunction and when you think back on them now it was likely because no was designated to oversee the management tasks of the project? • For people who are typically both a stakeholder on the project (responsible for some component of the work) but also in a project manager or leadership role, what are some ways to separate and balance the activities of the two roles? Please make a post and make at least one comment on someone else’s.

Make 2 discussion posts to continue. Project challenges and difficulties can often be traced to uncertainty. What we don’t know on a project isn’t something that tends to be articulated in our field. As a result, uncertainty is either ignored or planned for as if it was known, neither of which is an effective approach, typically, Please share your experience with uncertainty been regarding understanding and planning projects? Please list project activities, and then map out the durations and dependencies on the chart. Note: If your project has significant uncertainty, it might be challenging to complete a Gantt Chart. If that is the case you might consider to 1) mentally note to use more of an agile approach to your project and 2) pretend that you DO know so you can practice the process of using a Gantt Chart to map durations and dependencies. Also note: If you already use Gantt Charts, feel free to upload a chart from within the software that you use. Feel free to upload as an excel sheet.

Taking the time at the end of a project to consider challenges and successes for both the project as well as the management of the project is an important step in developing solid project management skills and knowledge. What has been your experience and practice with evaluation at the end of a project? Do you utilize it and if so how? If you don't, what are some of the barriers that make it difficult to evaluate?
