Technical Leaflet #218 by Marianne Curling provides guidelines for writing a furnishing plan for a historic house or room with an outline of each component that should be included in a plan. Furnishing a house museum requires a systematic approach and a plan. Marianne Curling provides questions to consider when writing a plan and how to address these when creating a project overview. Though Curling shows how to research furnishings and plan for what should be included in each room, she also emphasizes how these will be used as interpretative pieces and the way to arrange them to accommodate visitation. A bibliography to guide research of appropriate furnishings and interpretation of material culture is included.
